David J. Mauriello's play "Fireflies" blends the often conflicting values of different generations into an uplifting family drama... The play contrasts the lifestyle of a successful businessman and his partner living in a posh Boston townhouse with that of his aging mother, who struggles to maintain some of the glory of her decaying gardens at their old family homestead in the suburbs. In this task he finds his spiritual roots, which give him the courage to be true to himself.
